What
Actually
Happened.

Manhattan, NY
We had an appointment at 10:00. We were four minutes late because Marcus couldn't find parking on Chambers Street and Elena refused to take a cab. We found a spot. We walked in.
The room was small and fluorescent. There were two other couples waiting. A clerk named Deborah performed the ceremony in six minutes flat. She had clearly done this before. We said the words. Deborah handed us a certificate in a manila folder.
Our witness was Elena's cousin Tomas, who showed up in a Nets jersey and cried anyway. We took one photo outside on the steps — the one you'll see below. It's not perfect. We like it.
After, we went to Wo Hop on Mott Street and had wonton soup and roast duck. We were home by 1 PM. We watched a movie. It was exactly what we wanted.
We didn't want a big wedding. We wanted each other. Now we want a party — and we want you there.
Now
There's
A Party.
No gifts. No dress code. Just come and eat with us.

No speeches unless you're funny.
Outside New York City Hall. March 1, 2026. 10:22 AM. Tomas took it on his phone. His thumb is partially in frame. We kept it.
One photo.
The only one
from that day.
Are You
Coming?
One tap. That's all we need. No dietary restrictions form. No plus-one spreadsheet. Just: are you in?
